Azeri Turks claim to be "Iranian"

Azeri Turk Claims to be "Iranians":
I, for one, have Azeri blood in me and have azeri family members. We all have Iranian features and look Iranian. Azeris are turkified Iranians but they are not turkic by race. Azeris, along with the Kurds, are the descendants of Medians who were in no way, shape, or form turkic by race. I've also met MANY other Azeris who all look Iranian and you couldnt tell they were Azeri unless they tell you so.

Just becuase they speak a turkish language doesnt make them turkic by race. The Black Africans in Ivory Coast speak french. Does that mean they are French? Uhh...no.

Anatolian Turk:
Can you elaborate me with Iranian feature or Iranian race? Are you hinting that Iranian is a pure race? If there's not a pure race, then how you can catogorize some group to one specific racial term?

yes you are right you can speak persian but does that mean you are persians?

Actually, Iranians(Azeri Turks) and Turks look alike. I suppose you haven't seen pictures of Iranians (or haven't seen Iranians in real life).

Some important points:

1. The phenotype of an ethnic group is not decided by a few individuals but by a large number of the members of an ethnic group. A few blond Persians does not mean that Persians have blond hair. They usually have brown or light brown hair in addition to black hair.

2. You can be a speaker of any ethnic group but ethnically you can belong to another ethnic group. An example would be Gogoosh. She is an Azeri speaker but ethnically she is Persian. Many Azeri turks are Persian speakers but ethnically they are Azeri Turks. There are Kurdish speakers who are ethnically Persians.
